Jadon Sancho scored 17 goals for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga last season, but recently he hasn’t been able to replicate his last season form in the current campaign.

The 20-year-old was closely linked to Manchester United this summer but still stayed with the BVB side.

Speaking in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten in the wake of Borussia Dortmund’s 2-3 loss to Bayern Munich on Saturday, the club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, has explained why the young winger has looked a bit off his brilliant best.

Zorc said “He has had better and more efficient games. He’s lacking a bit of natural lightness at the moment. Of course we speak to him, but it’s not something you can rediscover just by talking,”

The BVB manager Lucien Favre defended Sancho by saying it’s only natural that the 20-year-old isn’t at his best through the whole season.

“You can’t be in top form for a year. If he’s not at 100 percent for a month, we have to accept that.”

The England international have made nine appearances for the black and yellow side this season, he has only scored 2 goals and racked up 3 assists.
