Former Nigeria Premier League star Peter Ijeh, who is now the coach of Swedish side Vargarda IK, says the budget of the club will determine the players he will sign ahead of the new season.
Peter Ijeh who once played for Malmo FF in Sweden was announced as the coach of the aforementioned Division two side (Vargarda Ik), last week Tuesday. But in a chat with Kenny Bamidele on the programme TOTAL SPORTS on Impact Business Radio 92.5fm, he mentioned that he will have to study the club.
When asked if he was going to bring in a couple of Nigeria players, the former Goteborg attacker reiterated that he would need to check other players inside the team, plus checking the budget of the side before deciding who to bring in.
“I will first of all look at the budget that i will be working with, i would also be looking at the inside of the team, to see what quality is in this players in the academy of the team, but if i did not see what i want, i can look elsewhere, but i have to look inwards first”
Vargarda Ik are ranked 13th on the log, as the league have concluded, Vargarda have just two victories from 13 games, with 27 goals conceded. Peter Ijeh in response to the question on how he is going to ensure the team returns to winning ways, said that every job comes with its task.
“Football has no two-way, it is either you are good at it or bad at it, but if you are good at it, it means the fundamental principles of the game are evident, so that is what I am planning to do with the club.”
Peter Ijeh managed Assyriska BK in 2013, 2014, 2015 , he surpassed the objective given to him by the club, as he won the Swedish FA CUP for the first time in the history of the club, since then the club have not won anything.
