Winning the NBA (National Basketball Association) championship or other wise called the “ring” in America is the biggest trophy a Basketball player can ever dream of, as it is used as a yard stick by pundits and sport fans to rate great players of the game.

There are some past and present Basketball players that have been called legend in the game due to the amount of titles that they have won. Players such as Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Lebron James, the late Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry – These are men that have won at least three championships among themselves and were also a key figures in their franchise winning every throphy.

As talented as some Basketball player are they are few of them that the title have eluded them, even though they have played out their skin season in and out in the NBA in order to win the ring but still haven’t gotten it and they are.

Carmelo Anthony

The 10 times all star player has spent seventeen seasons playing for five franchises (Denver Nuggets, New York Nicks, Oaklahoma City Thunder, Huston Rocket and Portland Trailblazers) in the league and still haven’t won the ring.

The highest the 36-year-old has got to was the Western conference final, he was with the Denver Nugget team that lost to the LA Lakers 4-2 in the 2008/2009 season.

In that 08-09 run, Carmelo averaged 27.2 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists per game but still wasn’t enough for him to win the ring. The small forward spent eight seasons with the Nuggets.

Last season, the small forward could only reach the quarter final round with his team Portland Trailblazers. They weren’t able to reach the Western conference semi-finals as they lost to the eventual winner of the conference LA Lakers 4-1.

Steve Nash

During his basket balling days, Nash was hailed as one one of the best point guard in the NBA history but never won the ring despite spending 19 seasons in the NBA.

He was the first the Canadian to win the MVP (Most valuable player) award, as he won it back to back from 2005 to 2006.

The highest the 8 times all star player got to was the Western Conference final as his return to Phoenix Suns ended in a loss to his former team Dallas Mavericks in 2005.

The 46-year-old was eventually able to win a ring not as a player but as a consultant team of Golden state Warriors. The GSW team won the ring twice from 2017 to 2018 – he was inducted basketball hall of fame in 2018.

James Harden

The 8 times all stars have been on only two franchises since 2009 and they are Oklahoma City Thunder and Huston Rockets and haven’t won a ring in any of them.

The 31-year-old shooting guard was only able to win the Western conference championship in 2017/2018 but lost to the eventual winners of the overall championship Golden State Warriors.

The 2017/2018 season was the best season for the rockets and Harden as they had 65 wins all through the season and Harden winning the MVP award that season.

Last season, that Rockets weren’t able to qualify for the final of Western conference final play-off despite having having the 31-year-old and Russell Westbrook in the team as they lost to the winners of the play-off LA Lakers.

There are others exceptional players in the NBA such as Jimmy Butler, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook that will be hoping to win the ring before they retire.
