Villarreal FC coach Unai Emery has reaffirmed his trust in Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze.
The 21-year-old whose superb form has attracted interest from top English and Spanish side, may likely stay put with the yellow submarine to see out his contract in 2023 with the Spanish side.
Reacting to a question from Babatunde Ojora of OJBSPORT ahead of Villarreal’s away Europa league game against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Unai Emery said they are happy with “Samu”.
“He’s very young and has an exciting future but first he’s with us trying to get better with his performance for us and the national team”.
“In the future he can go, but I think he’s very happy with us and every match he plays, he tries to give the best performance”.
Samuel Chukwueze’s introduction made a massive difference for the home side against last season’s La liga champions on Saturday.
He has netted one goal and provided three assists in seven starts for Villarreal in the current LaLiga campaign.
A win tomorrow in Isreal will qualify Villarreal to the next round of the competition.
