Liverpool Head Coach Jurgen Klopp has lamented over Virgil Van Dijk’s recovery, saying the Dutch Man’s knee “does not look like a knee should”.
He says that the is serious injury but is going “really well”.
Virgil Van Dijk joined the Liverpool injury list after he damaged his knee ligament during last month’s Merseyside derby, after Jordan Pickford’s dangerous tackle.
The Oranges skipper may miss the remainder of the 2020/2021 season and maybe miss next year’s Euros.
Virgil’s absence has been felt by the Merseyside giants ij recent games as he’s an integral part of the Reds squad since his big money move from Southampton to Liverpool.
At end of October, the 29-year-old underwent a successful operation, with him starting his rehabilitation.
Jurgen Klopp was quizzed if he’s been speaking with Van Dijk, Klopp replied that:
“Yes, of course we are in contact. Considering the circumstances, he’s doing really well.
“His knee doesn’t look good, to be honest. It doesn’t look like a knee should look, but it looks good for a knee with that surgery and the time he had since the surgery.
“So, yes, of course we are in contact and he’s doing well, that’s true.”
