Chelsea striker Oliver Giroud has become the oldest player to score a hat-trick in a Champions league game.
The 34-years-old striker was on fire last night in Chelsea’s 4 – 0 victory over Spanish side Sevilla, with the striker scoring all the four goals in the night.
He also becomes the oldest player in Champions’ League history to score a hat-trick achieving the feat at the age of 34 years and 63 days old. The previous holder of the record was Cristiano Ronaldo who achieved the feat at the age of 34 years and 35 days.
The historic night for the French striker was also the first time he has scores a quadruple in a single match since 18th September 2009 in a French Ligue 2 game for Tours against Arles-Avignon.
The victory over Sevilla last night also took Chelsea to the top of group E with 13 points from five games.
