The Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso has said that his last will be ready for the next tough WAFU-UFOA Zone B qualifier match against the Black Satellites of Ghana tomorrow.
Recall that the Nigeria U-20 side settlement for a 1-1 draw against the Small Elephants of Cote de’ voire last Sunday. Christopher Nwaeze who was the Flying Eagles’ goalscorer against the Ivorians will not be on the field of play for tomorrow’s tie after he saw red.
Bosso has explained the rationale behind his side’s failure to out last Sunday’s match in the bag, thus surrendering their one-goal lead.
“I thought we did enough to pick up the three points against the Ivorians but we lost concentration towards the tail end of the game and were punished for it,” Bosso said according to All Nigerian Soccer
“We controlled the game for most parts and should have won but the red card destabilised my boys and put us out of sync tactically” he continued
“The clash with Ghana will be tough but we are ready. The boys understand what is at stake and I have confidence they will do the nation proud.” Bosso assured Nigerians
“Our target here remains the same: winning the tournament and qualifying for the CAF U20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.” He admmited
The crucial match between Nigeria and their Ghanaian counterparts is slated for 4pm (WAT) at Stade Charles de Gaulle, Porto-Novo, Benin Republic.
Meanwhile, The Flying Eagles have won the Africa U20 Cup of Nations seven times, three more than the second most successful nation in the competition, Egypt.
