Manchester United’s head coach, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer believes his side are worthy to be title challengers despite their shaky start start to the campaign.
In the Wake of United’s 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig which led to their exit from this year’s Uefa champions league, the Red Devils take on rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford this Saturday.
United’s season has been more of disappointments than happiness as they’ve been inconsistent starting from the UCL to the local league.
In the Premier League this season United have shown their lack of consistency as they’ve had embarrassing defeats and comeback wins this season.
The last four gameweeks have been brilliant for the Red Devils, they’ve won their last four Premier League games, with three of the victories coming on the road with a comeback taking place.
Solskjaer however believes that with his team’s performance, they’re showing signs that they could be title contenders this term.
“At Manchester United, you should always aim to win trophies,” Solskjaer said.
“Of course, with the last three seasons, as they have been, there’s been two teams far ahead of the rest of the pack.
“I got belief during the season, or since the turn of the new year, that this team is improving and that we can put up a challenge.
“Of course we need to improve on last season but I don’t think any team will run away with it.
“I go into every single game wanting to win, so maybe that’s the answer to your question. If you win every game you end up with a trophy.”
