The organisers of the Channels Kids Cup have revealed that the next edition will be greater than the former ones after the Coronavirus prevented it from holding this year.

Sports generally was affected by the outbreak of coronavirus and it forced many things even outside the world of sport to go on hold.

The Channels Kids Cup is a football competition designed for primary school pupils in Nigeria which has it’s main aim in bringing out talents from the grassroots.

Cecilia Omorogbe of Channels TV spoke with Afolayan Toyosi of Ojbsport concerning the competition, saying the 12th edition should have held this year but due to the pandemic it would be staged next year, even in a better fashion.

“The next edition is gonna be bigger, we know because of the Covid-19 we couldn’t hold it.

“We normally hold the tournament on Children’s National Day but we couldn’t organize it this year due to the pandemic.

“Now that school has resumed and Students are back in school fully we can expect that the next edition will be bigger and better.”
