Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi was on target on Friday night in the German bundesliga, as his club Union Berlin defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1.

The Liverpool loanee had earlier been on target on Tuesday night against Vfb Stuttgart in which they were held to a 2-2 draw.

The 23-year-old led the line again for the home side as they took on Dortmund on Friday night in match week 13.

The BVB side dominated the German capital club in terms of possession, but the first half ended in a scoreless draw.

The first goal of the match came before the hour mark and it came from the 23-year-old who headed the ball from close range as he received a beautiful cross from Grischa Proemrl.

The Black and Yellow side equalised at the half hour mark from 16-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko, the Iron Berlin took the lead again from Marvin Friedrich in the 78 minutes and were able to hold the lead till full time.

The former golden eaglets striker got substituted in the 85 minutes for Akaki Gogia

Awoniyi has now scored four goals in his last six appearances for the Berlin side in bundesliga and the club are now fifth in the table.
