Coach of the Nigerian men’s football national team has asked his team to begin a scouting operation on Gaziantep young goalkeeper Emmanuel James.

Emmanuel James plays for the U-23 team of Turkish outfit Gaziantep.

He turned out to the Golden Eaglets trial which was held for the FIFA U17 World Cup but the officials didn’t consider him good enough, while Ladan Boso called him up this year to team up with the U20s but his employers didn’t permit him.

The 19 year-old has put in brilliant performances for the developmental squad of Gaziantep this season and there have been talks that he may be making his debut for the senior team before the conclusion of this campaign.

Owngoal reported that a source close to Gernot Rohr said that his development is been tracked by the Super Eagles gaffer.

“Rohr knows him a lot and already scouts are on his case tracking his progress. If he continues to improve, there’s a chance that he could get a call up in the future because the team needs young goalkeepers.”
