The football world is literally on a standstill to celebrate Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, the 1st Vice-President of Nigeria Football Federation and a major contributor to the successes achieved so far in Nigeria football especially at the youth and grassroots level, as he graciously adds another year to his life.
Leading the celebrations train is the Ekiti State Football Association Chairman, Bayo Olanlege. In a message congratulating Akinwunmi, who is also the Chairman, Lagos State Football Association, Olanlege describes him as a great Nigerian who deserves to be celebrated now on his birthday and always.
“I am happy and grateful to God for keeping my big brother and mentor alive to witness and celebrate another year in the land of the living, even as the world is being ravaged by the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
“On behalf of myself, Ekiti State FA board, and the entire Ekiti State football community, I solemnly pray that God in His infinite mercies continue to protect and bless him to the benefits of Nigerian football and humanity,” Olanlege prayed.
