Manchester United and Nigerian forward, Odion Ighalo, has confessed he’s open to playing for the Super Eagles in another AFCON or FIFA World Cup.
After calling off his time with the Super Eagles immediately the AFCON 2019 ended, the former Watford man has reiterated his desire to return to the squad.
Odion is enduring a terrible time at United, despite having a blistering start to life as a Red Devil.
He confessed his desire to play at either the AFCON or the FIFA World Cup maybe even both if invited.
Ighalo in an interview with ESPN spoke about his relationship with Gernot Rohr and giving the youngsters a chance.
“I have a good relationship with Gernot Rohr and at a time he wanted me to return to the team because he finds it difficult to seeing me play for Manchester United and not play again for the Super Eagles.
“Although I retired from the team early due to Injury eight week before the AFCON, unfortunately I left the tournament with another injury and considering the travels from China, it wasn’t good for me and have to give the youngsters an opportunity.
“I miss everyone in the team and if the need arises, I want to play at another World Cup finals or the Africa Cup of Nations if not both tournaments, but for now I want the youngsters to enjoy themselves”
