Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rhor, has asked the NFF to get Ademola Lookman ready for March’s AFCON Qualifiers.
Lookman already applied for the switch of nationality in 2019 but hasn’t been cleared yet due to the lengthy process involved when it comes to England.
The process whereby a player who has turned out for an English national team side wants to switch takes close to a year due to the five associations needing to sign.
With the outbreak of the pandemic it has now prolonged the switch and it doesn’t seem to be a good one for the German tactician who rates the Fulham forward highly.
An official of the Nigeria Football Federation revealed to owngoalnigeria that Rohr has asked the NFF to make Lookman eligible to play for Nigeria in March.
“Wẹ have gotten permission from Rohr to quicken the process because he’s keen on having him for the games kn March. On our path we’ve successful written to FIFA to grant our wish since the player in question has already started the process. We hope to get a response soon.”
