Nigerian striker, Gabriel Okechukwu, has signed a deal with Japanese topflight division Consadole Sapporo FC.
Okechukwu, joins the J1 club on a three-year-deal worth €824,000 from Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca it was gathered via Transfermarkt.
The 26-year-old who won the Moroccan League title with Wydad Casablanca in 2019, also scored the decisive spot-kick as Akwa United defeated Niger Tornadoes 3-2 on penalties to lift the Aiteo Cup in 2017.
He moved to Wydad Casablanca in 2018 and helped the Moroccan giants win the Brotola League title the following season.
“I’m happy with this move and I cannot wait to get started,” Okechukwu said during his unveiling.
“It’s an opportunity for me to relaunch my career here.”
The former Karpaty Lviv and St. George forward has four caps for the Super Eagles B team with two goals.
Okechukwu was a key part of Nigeria’s B team that reached the African Nations Championship where they lost 4-0 to hosts Morocco in the final of the competition in 2018.
He is expected to make his debut for Consadole Sapporo against Yokohama when the J1 league starts on February 27.
