Kano Pillars shotstopper Suraj Ayeleso has expressed his delight to seeing Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr watch local league games live in Nigeria but clamors for the inclusion of NPFL goalies in the Super Eagles fold.
Gernot Rohr earlier this month revealed his preferred goalkeepers and their hierarchy for the national team, he installed Sparta Rotterdam’s Maduka Okoye as his first choice, Francis Uzoho of Omonia as the second choice and the experienced Daniel Akpeyi as the third.
The only NPFL goalkeeper who Gernot Rhor invites to the national team was Heartland’s Ikechukwu Ezenwa but this time he’s now been axed from the team.
But Suraj however opines that NPFL shotstoppers are good enough to man the post for the Nigeria national team.
The veteran Kano Pillars goalkeeper, said, “I believe NPFL goalkeepers should be considered now that the league is on. I was happy when I saw head coach Rohr in Port Harcourt watching the Enyimba versus Rivers United CAF Confederation Cup game.”
The Super Eagles list is expected to be released in earnest as the Super Eagles look forward to wrap up everything that concerns AFCON Qualifiers.
