Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye last week was said to have attracted Ajax Amsterdam with his performance in goal and the Dutch giants making an inquiry concerning him.

However Sparta Rotterdam technical director Henk van Stee has come out to debunk the talks of Ajax Amsterdam making a move for Maduka Okoye.

On FC Rijnmond TV show, RTV Rijnmond reporter Dennis van Eersel revealed the Dutch Eredivisie Champions were among the teams interested in signing the for Bayer Leverkusen youth teamer.

“Absolute nonsense, ” Henk van Stee told Dutch football magazine Voetbal International via ajaxfanzone.nl.

Okoye also has dismissed the talks of him joining Ajax in the summer, he’s however delighted to be linked with such a great team but confirms that there’s been no contact yet.

“I have not heard anything yet, it is now mainly a rumor. It is nice to read that Ajax is interested. That means that I am performing well at Sparta,” Okoye said to ESPN.

“My focus is now on Sparta. At the moment nothing is playing yet. We will see what will happen.”

The Super Eagles no.1 has seven clean sheets in twenty appearances for Sparta Rotterdam to his name in the Dutch Eredivisie.
