After playing with the Nigeria Male Basketball Team for the first time during the final qualifying phase of the AFRO-BASKET Championship, Orleans of France player, Chima Moneke says, ‘he is yet to give his best to the team.’
Chima who was part of the new players called-up to the National team prior to the qualifiers, said, he enjoyed every minutes he had on the court, but reiterates, his desire to further represent the country well, in subsequent competitions with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in sight.
He made this revelation during a Zoom Chat with Basketball Pundit, Kenny Bamidele.
” I will do what I need to do, to give myself a chance to make the team for the Olympics, but that is not in my control, what is in my control is how I perform everyday, I am yet to give my best to the team, I still have a lot to offer, but the Olympics is one of the main goal when it comes to playing for the National team”
The aforesaid France-based Basketball player, played his first three games with the Nigeria National team last month, averaging 6 PPG with an average of 16.3 mins played.
Chima registered 12 point for his side Orleans, as they beat fellow french-side Le man 78-84 on Saturday, to continue a four game winning streak. He is averaging 11.6 PPG 6.7 RPG in his last 5 games for Orleans.
