Everton forward, Alex has once again tested positive for Coronavirus ahead of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho.

Iwobi was earlier tested positive for the virus and ruled him out the 1-0 away win over Benin on Saturday.

The NFF revealed that they doubted the validity of the result, stating that another one would be conducted before the match against Lesotho.

The result remains the same after another test, and he’s travelled back to Liverpool in other to get treated by the medics.

“Iwobi has left the camp,” Eagles media officer Babafemi Raji told AFP.

“Before he left, he did not show any symptoms, he was fine.”

The 24 year old is Nigeria ‘s second highest goalscorer at the ongoing AFCON Qualifiers as he has found the back of the net on two occasions.

The Super Eagles qualified for the finals of the Mundial with two games to spare but will be looking forward to round it off in style by winning convincingly against Lesotho today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Gernot Rohr will lead his side out today at 5pm Nigerian time to face Lesotho in the final game of the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers.
