“I have been watching Nigerian national team matches and I do enjoy them,” Alves said in a chat with The PUNCH.

“It won’t be out of place for me to switch nationality and maybe play for Nigeria. I love the country and I would like to get an invitation to play for the Super Eagles soon. It would be great to play for Nigeria.

“I know there are a lot of quality players and competition in my position and every other position but I am not bothered by that because it is part of my job.”

He also said that his most preferred Eagle is Galatasary winger Henry Onyekuru
“Henry Onyekuru is my favourite among the Eagles players and maybe that has to do with the fact that we play in the same position.”

Alves joined the Ilorin based outfit during the 2020/21 transfer window from American side, Seahorses LA.
