Real Madrid have confirmed that Raphael Varane has suffered an adductor injury which is set to rule him out of Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal clash against Chelsea.

“After the tests carried out today on our player Raphael Varane by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he was diagnosed with an injury to the right abductor muscles.”Madrid confirmed via their official website.

Madrid held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw in Madrid last week after Karim Benzema cancelled out Christian Pulisic’s opener.

Eder Militao and Nacho lined up alongside Varane in last week’s semi-final tie.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos could replace Varane after recovering from a calf injury but he has not played a game since mid-March. in fact , he has only played 125 minutes for Real Madrid since the middle of January.

Its a huge blow for Madrid considering that Varane is one of their most experienced player .
