Italian Serie A side Atalanta have joined LA Liga heavyweights Sevilla in race for Super Eagles invitee and UD Almeria striker Sadiq Umar.

Spanish news outlet La Voz de Almeria reports that Sadiq could be heading back to the Italian Serie A come next season as Atalanta have chosen the Super Eagles striker as a possible reinforcement.

The 24-year-old is curerntly the third highest goal scorer in La Liga Smart Bank with Espanyol’s Raul de Tomas leading the pack with 22 goals, Sporting Gijon’s Uro Durdevic (21) and Almeria’s Sadiq Umar (18).

The 2016 Olympic Games bronze medalist is currently having his best season since his career kicked off with him having 34 goal involvement (26 goals, 8 assists) in all competitions.

If Sadiq accepts a move to Atalanta, it should be a familiar terrain for him as he has played previously at AS Roma, Spezia, Perugia, Torino and Bologna.

Atalanta, who are second in the Serie A table, face competition from Sevilla for the services of the Nigerian attacker.
