Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers, has dismissed the comparison between Wilfred Ndidi and Ngolo Kante with the Scottish gaffer saying they’re both good in their own way .

Ngolo Kante was part of the Foxes side that did the impossible in 2016. He played a pivotal role in Leicester City’s fairytale run to the Premier League title in the 2015/2016 season.

The French man had the highest tackles and interceptions in the league as at then and even when he moved to Chelsea the following season.

Since Ndidi’s arrival in January 2017, he has grown in leaps and bounds with him being ranked amongst the best defensive midfielders in Europe.

The growth of Wilfred has however led to the comparison between the two midfielders, but Rodgers is not of the belief that both players be compared.

At the post match press conference of Leicester City’s 2-1 win over Man Utd he was asked if he sees Ndidi as the next N’Golo Kante, Rodgers replied :

“No, I think he’s Wilfred Ndidi, I think Kante has got special skills, and he’s a defensive midfield player of course like Ndidi but they’re two totally different players.

“Wilfred in his own right is a top class player who can improve in some areas of his game but thankfully he’s a player that wants to develop.”
