The new date for Rivers Hoopers last group game against GNBC has been fixed for Saturday, 22nd of May 4:30pm Nigerian time moved from initial 23rd, Sunday.

The Kingsmen have a lot of work to do, if they want to make through to the next round, as they will need to beat GNBC in an emphatic fashion to scale through.

The Port-harcourt based side, had lost their first two games with a big margin, putting them in a difficult situation to qualify for the next round.

They lost the first game to home side Patriots 86-66, before falling to strong US Monastir 99-70 on Thursday.

Speaking after the game against US Monastir coach for Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club, Ogoh Odaudu has said local players did their bests, but would have done better if there was an active Basketball league in the country.

“”For the local players to come play at this level you would not believe they have not played competitively since 2019, there was nothing they could do about it. For them to come out and play like this I think it goes a long way to show the kind of talent we have. Imagine that we have a league that was running, I think we would have gotten decent results.”
