Three second-half goals gave Italy a 3-0 win over Turkey in the opening match of the European Championship.
Ciro Immobile who as always find it difficult to replicate is Club form in the National team kicked in a rebound from close range and Lorenzo Insigne added another following a poor clearance. Both came after an own-goal from Turkey defender Merih Demiral had given Italy the lead.
The Italians dominated from the start but were denied in the first half by a superb save from Turkey goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır and a decision by the referee not to award a penalty for an apparent handball.
Turkey who have the youngest squad in the competition had no single shot on target all through the game.

Italy made 24 attempts at goal , eight of those on target. Their front three of Insigne, Immobile and Berardi were all excellent. Jorginho kept things ticking over in the middle. They have kept 8 clean sheets in their last 8 games.
The Italians continue their unbeaten run in Rome ,they have never lost a game in there will ,it’s now 56 games without a defeat in Rome.
The tournament began a year late because of the covid-19 pandemic and is still being called Euro 2020.
