Reading football sensation, Michael Olise, has a huge decision to make in the coming months as two African football heavyweights want him to represent them.
Algeria have registered their interest in making Olise represent the desert foxes at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar next year.
However Olise has been in the news since the turn of the year as regards change of nationality from France to Nigeria
Olise is one of the up and coming football stars and would have to make a decision that’d have an effect his international career as a footballer.
Michael has a tough decision to make on which country to represent with Algeria coming out to rival Nigeria for the attacking midfielder.
The former Chelsea youngster was born in England to a Nigerian father and a French mother who also has Algerian roots.
Olise who represented France in the Toulon tournament in 2019 hasn’t tasted international football ever since 2019 and is now being poached by his ancestral nations.
The 20-year-old had a brilliant season in England’s second tier of club football with London side Reading.
The 2020/2021 is a season to remember for Olise as he bagged seven goals and 12 assists in the EFL Championship.
With the Royal missing out on promotion play offs, he maybe leaving the club as top English clubs have indicated interest in signing him.
Olise was named the Championship Young Player of the Season, Reading’s EA Sports Young Player of the Season award and also a nomination in the EFL Championship XI for the just concluded season.
Back in March when Nigeria’s AFCON 2021 Qualifiers squad list was revealed, Olise’s name was included in the standby section.
Reports from Fennec Football says that the Algeria FA have sent out its emissaries to visit Olise in London to convince him to play for the African champions.
