Turkish Super Lig Champions for the 20/21 season, Besiktas, have identified Chidioze Awaziem as one of their prime targets in bid to reinforce for the upcoming season.
The Istanbul based side who won the league on the final day of the season ahead of Galatasaray are aiming to beef up their squad even before the official commencement of the transfer window on July 1st.
However, the Super Eagles defender isn’t short of suitors as the player’s agent, Graham Heydorn, has confirmed.
According to yenisafak, Awaziem is a transfer target for a lot of teams in Portugal, Turkey and Italy.
Awaziem left Portuguese giants, FC Porto on a permanent deal to Boavista football club where he was on a season long loan deal last term.
After series of beautiful outings for Boavista he was made one of the club captains and the Portuguese side exercised their option to buy by paying FC Porto a sum of €5m.
The Panthers who initially took up the buy option at the end of the campaign, are now looking for a way to sell the Super Eagles center half due financial constraints.
Besiktas are looking forward to defend their league title and have a good run in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
However, Awaziem’s agent Heydorn reiterates that some unnamed clubs are hoping to sign the AFCON Bronze medalist.
“Besiktas is one of the interested teams, but there are other teams that want it,” he said as per yenisafak.
