Erstwhile Flying Eagles of Nigeria coach Paul Aigbogun is set to replace Austin Eguavoen as the stand-in coach for the Super Eagles when they take on the El Tri of Mexico, owing to the visa rejection of Austin Eguavoen.

The head of the Technical Department of the Nigerian Football Federation Austin Eguavoen, was initially supposed to pilot the affairs of the Eagles against Mexico at Los Angeles Coliseum on Sunday but things took a twist and turn when he was not issued an entry visa to the US. He will now be substituted with Aigbogun to be assisted by goalkeeper’s coach Alloy Agu.

The Super Eagles team are expected to arrive at the US later in the evening as their final training session in preparation for the game on Sunday is slated for Saturday.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be represented by players selected from the Nigerian Professional Football League except from the late call up of Tottenham U-23 man Joshua Oluwayemi to the Squad due to the injury of goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa and partially-fit John Noble.

Paul Aigbogun is a British passport holder which grants him free entry to the US.
