Finally, D’Tigers of Nigeria now know their foes ahead of the Olympics, as the FIBA Olympics qualifying tournament reach it climax on Sunday evening.
Nigeria will lock horns with Italy, Australia and Germany in group b of the Basketball event.
Italy defeated heavyweights Serbia, 102 – 95, in the Final game played in Belgrade Serbia. Nico Mannion of the Golden State Warriors led the Italian team with 24 points. Germany on the other hand, endured what looked like an hard-fought victory over the Brazilians in Split, Croatia as it ended 75-64. Moritz Wagner scored a game-high 28 points for Germany.
No doubts those names in Group B are heavyweights, but recent Mike Brown comment on the pool of talent in the setup is what Nigerians can fall to, and hope the team do the unthinkable when the competition kick-starts.
The D’Tigers of Nigeria are presently camping in California United States, preparing for the Olympics proper.
