Super Falcons of Nigeria star Desire Oparanozie is set to resume back to international football after a 2-year exit.

The former Super Falcons captain was debarred from representing Nigeria when she led the famous protest over unpaid bonuses and allowances at the 2019 World Cup in France — a protest which drew up discord between her and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

She has however not featured for the Super Falcons since 2019 after been omitted from the squad in both the Turkish tour and the recently held US Summer Series tournament despite her commendable performance for French outfit Dijon FC

Reports from Exclusive news suggests that the 27-year-old striker has now apologized to the Nigeria Football Federation for her misconduct and vows to uphold good behavior.

A statement confirming her reinstatement to the team reads: ” The President is a father of all, he has forgiven her, and advised that she be invited for subsequent matches of the Super Falcons”.

Desire Oparanozie has 22 goals in 35 appearances for the Nigerian women and she is expected to join the team in their preparation for the AWCON qualifiers against Ghana.
