Nigerian winger Moses Simon has returned to France to join Nantes FC, the team where he plies his trade, for the preseason camp ahead of the coming 2021/22 season.

The Nantes forward who arrived France yesterday will join the team training camp on Monday as they hope to kickstart preparation ahead of their preseason friendly tour against Guingamp, Caen, Brest and Lorient respectively — with the game against Guingamp scheduled to be played on Wednesday, 14th July.

Simon, who recently marked his 26th birthday spent his Summer vacation in his home country where he continued his philanthropic pursuit after donating a sum of two hundred thousand naira (#200, 000.00) to Little Wonders FC and 36 Lions — the participants of a novelty match hosted by Brigadier MLB Saraso in Lagos, Nigeria. The benevolent act follows the player’s construction of pipe-borne water and drainage system in Benue State, among other charity works Moses Simon has engaged in.

Voted 2019/20 season Nantes player of the year, Moses Simon has since he secured a 4-year permanent deal with Nantes from Levante in 2019, the forward has been impressive, notching 9 goals and 8 assists in 30 appearances for the Ligue 1 side. His importance in the team is to the extent that he was very instrumental for Nantes, guiding them to a remarkable 1-0 win over Toulouse at the Ligue 1 relegation playoffs to seal a spot in the next season’s top flight French football.

The Nigerian international has now reunited with his club in France after a blissful 1-month holiday engaging in community works in Nigeria, as they hope to rewrite their story in the soon-to-begin 2021/22 season.
