French side Bordeaux will be competing in the French Ligue 1 Uber Eats come next season after a financial takeover by former Lille owner Gerard Lopez.
The Bordeaux based side however have two Nigerians on their pay roll namely; Samuel Kalu and Joshua Maja.
The club appealed a decision to demote them to the Ligue 2 for administrative breaches but new owner Gerard Lopez saved them.
On July 2, 2021 the authorities who are in charge of managing the French leagues DNCG ordered a ruling that confirmed Bordeaux’s relegation due to breaches in respect of transfers and salaries.
The club have now been imposed restrictions for wages and transfers.
Samuel Kalu bar any injury is a pivotal member for the French side just like how Moses Simon is for Nantes.
Josh Maja who was on loan at Fulham in the premier league last season returns to his parent club also though English championship sides want him.
