Kelechi Nwakali’s dream of playing in the premier league or the EFL Championship has gone cold after SD Huesca have decided to hold on to the Nigerian youngster.

Huesca have opted to put a red flag on Nwakali that stipulates he is not for sale.

The former Arsenal midfielder will be a part of the Aragon based team as the gaffers are looking to make the Nigerian an integral part of their first-team squad this season.

Since leaving Arsenal permanently in 2019, the Nigeria U23 skipper hasn’t enjoyed enough game time with him featuring in just ten games so far for the Oscenses but a fantastic loan spell at Alcorcon brought the spotlight back on him.

The 23 year olds display of good footballing abilities have made Premier League side Leeds United and Championship club Bournemouth enquire about him just like Arsenal did in 2015 before signing him.

Huesca have the intention to make an immediate return to the La Liga just like they did some seasons back and have identified the 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup Winner as one of the drivers of their return.

World News says that the Spanish side insists that they’ve not gotten any formal offer for the Imo born midfielder and are not going to entertain any negotiation talks even if the buyer has the player’s €15 million release clause.

Nwakali returned to Huesca’s preseason camp on Monday, exactly a week after other players resumed, and he will be joining the team’s training when his coronavirus tests come out negative.
