Newly appointed Napoli Head Coach, Luciano Spalleti, has revealed that he will be counting on his club’s record signing Victor Osimhen for the upcoming season and beyond as long as he’s at the helm of affairs.
Spalleti became the manager of SSC Napoli after a brief off football stint that he had when he was laid off at Inter Milan replacing former Italy international Gennaro Gattuso.
The Partenopei boss met the Napoli squad for the first time this week and was impressed with his work ethics, his ability and commitment.
He’s however looking forward to working with the 22-year-old and also helping him improve on certain aspects of his game .
“We will rely on Osimhen, his a strong point of the team because he is a complete player from all points of view,”the former Nerazzuri gaffer said.
“In addition to being able to score, he puts other things into his game, he gives everything.
“Above all, he fights for his teammates and it is very important for the rest of the group because if he starts we can all see him.”
L.Spalleti is of the notion that the Super Eagles star has to work on some aspects of the game to become a better goal poacher.
“It is clear that he must improve in some areas and we try to stimulate him and work on these points and this is where we find an important answer, like today, where we gave him a certain type of work and he did not flinch, he made himself available and completed the task,”he added.
“It can’t be better than that “.
Osimhen scored 10 goals in 24 league games for Napoli last season and has picked up from where he left off last term by scoring four goals in 45 minutes yesterday in a preseason game.
