Veteran Nigeria forward, Desire Oparanozie returned to goalscoring in her first appearance in a green and white shirt since June 2019 as the Super Falcons defeated Slovenian giant Olimpija Ljubljana 1-0 in an unannounced friendly encounter.

In a contest that featured debutant Ashleigh Plumptre, Oparanozie quickly established her presence in the Nigerian team after two years exile for administrative reasons as she found the back of the net from a free kick 16 minutes into the match to give the Super Falcons the win over Olimpija at Vosendorf stadium, Vienna, Austria.

The former Delta Queens forward Oparanozie alongside Sundsvall striker Ebere Orji, Eskilstuna United midfielder Ngozi Okobi and Paris goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie also made their return to international football after being left out since October 2019.

The Nigerian contingent, who made a trip to Vienna, Austria for an 8-day camping ahead of the Aisha Buhari tournament in September rounded up their training session on Friday with a 1-0 win against the Slovenian side Olimpija and will now return to their respective destination to unite with clubs.
