Spanish modest side RCD Mallorca have made an official bid for Super Eagles forward Simeon Nwankwo amidst interest from top Italian clubs.

The Pirates make an immediate return to the La Liga Santander after finishing second in the La Liga Smart Bank last term.

They are however in the hunt for a prolific forward who can ease their goalscoring woes and help them beat the drop this time around.

Real Mallorca have made an official bid of €3.5 million which could be equated to ₦1.8 Billion in Nigeria’s currency.

They’ve leapfrogged five clubs namely; Tottenham Hotspur, Sampdoria, Genoa, Lazio, and Salernitana who were reportedly interested in signing the lanky striker with them submitting an official bid. Diario de Mallorca reported.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup attendee joined Crotone from Portuguese side Portimonense for €850,000 in 2016.

With him having an excellent outing in the Serie A last term which saw him net 18 goals, he became Crotone’s all-time highest goalscorer.

The 29 year old has one year left on his contract with the Italian side and currently has a market value of €8 million which is his highest ever.

While Crotone suffered relegation back to Serie B last term, moving to Mallorca will offer Simy a return to one of Europe’s major leagues next season.

The Luis García Plaza-led side secured promotion to La Liga last campaign after finishing second in the Segunda Division.
