In a bid to prepare for the upcoming FIBA AfroBasket 2021 set to be held in Kigali from August 24 to September 5, the Rwanda Men’s National Team will face Senegal and Guinea in international friendly games from Tuesday, August 10, 2021 through to Saturday, August 14 at the Dakar Arena.

Rwanda Head Coach Dr Cheikh Sarr has named a 17-man list that will travel to the Senegalese capital on Friday, August 6 and return to Kigali on Monday, August 16.

Sarr said, “This is a good opportunity for us to measure our competences. We have not had the chance to do it here. We did some scrimmage games but going to Senegal will give us an opportunity to play against NBA
players that are playing in a high level.”

From Dakar, the team will return to Kigali on Monday, August 16 and will take on Egypt in two friendly games on August 19 and 21 at the Kigali Arena in the final preparations ahead of the FIBA AfroBasket 2021 scheduled for August 24 to September 5 at the Kigali Arena.

Rwanda was drawn in Group A with 11-time African champions Angola, neighbours Democratic Republic of
Congo and Cape Verde.
