Ex-Manchester City forward Roland Bianchi has tipped Victor Osimhen to be the difference for SSC Napoli in the upcoming season with the Nigerian picking up the blistering run he started last term.

The Partenopei are out to challenge for silverware in the Serie A, Italian Cup, and the UEFA Europa League.

With his beautiful end to the 2020/21 campaign, the newly appointed head coach Luciano Spalletti decided to install Osimhen as his first choice centre forward.

The former AS Roma boss is teaching the Olusosun born his attacking strategy and has been working to make Victor a more technical forward.

In what seemed like a disastrous start to life in Italy, the Super Eagles number nine turned the situation around and eventually scored ten goals in the Serie A.

His goals propelled the Naples side to the UEFA Champions League spot but a draw on final day made them fall short of Europe’s most exciting club competition.

Bianchi majorly played his football in the Pope’s nation but still had two brief spells at Mallorca and Man City.

The Torino legend is convinced Osimhen has the qualities to be score goals like the elite strikers in Italy’s topflight league.

Despite the fact that Osimhen could spend at least a month with the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon (2022), Bianchi still opines that he’d not be slowed down by the tournament

“It could be Osimhen’s year, even if he will spend a month away for the Africa Cup (of Nations),” Bianchi told Radio Kiss Kiss, as per Tutto Napoli.

“He’s managed to get to know the environment and understood what it takes to make a difference in Serie A; the qualities are there, and Spalletti worked on them from an analytical point of view.

“Osimhen has the humility to work to continue improving; now he can make the leap in quality.”

Osimhen has found the back of the net seven times in four preseason games for Spalletti’s men.
