Manchester United started the new English Premier League season with a comprehensive 5-1 walloping of Leeds United.
Portugal international Bruno Fernandes was the top performer for the Red Devils registering an Hat-trick. Paul Pogba also performed exceptionally well amassing four assists.
For Manchester United this was the best possible way to start a league campaign. A result that takes them to the top of EPL table.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring in the first half with a well received pass from Paul Pogba to put the ball in-between the legs of Meslier.
The start of the second-half saw Leeds United draw level, but that was just for a minute or two as Manchester united pummeled them with 4 successive strike from Fernandes (2) Greenwood (1) and Fred (1).
Paul Pogba became the 7th player to register four assist in a single Premier League game, and the first Man utd player to do so. It will be recalled that Pogba made just 3 assist in 26 league games last season.
After finishing second to rivals Manchester City last season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made no secret that his side are targeting the title this campaign, with his squad bolstered by the high-profile additions of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. Despite that, though, the manager had to wrestle with several absentees for his side’s curtain-raiser. Varane has not yet been registered due to small details of his contract that remain to be finalised. Sancho only came off the bench in the second half, while Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford and Dean Henderson were all ruled out.
