Nigerian international , Taiwo Adeniyi scored twice and assisted once as Union Berlin thrashed KuPS 4-0 in their Europa Conference League first leg qualification clash.

The former Liverpool striker and Union Berlin’s record signing ,gave the visitors an early advantage and from then, the result never looked in doubt.

On the half-hour mark Union Berlin scored twice within a minute.

Awoniyi played a through ball to Max Kruse to slot home his first of the season before the Nigerian international added a third moments later.

In the second half, Andreas Voglsammer added a fourth in stoppage time to give the German club a comfortable lead heading into the second leg.

Awoniyi joined Union Berlin on a permanent deal from Liverpool after spending last season on loan.

The former Mainz striker began the season with an assist in the DFB Pokal win over Türkgücü München before scoring the opener against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga .
