Mike Brown speaking ahead of the Afrobasket opener dropped his pragmatic view of the team, saying the present crop of players in camp are slowing down the pace.

The new players are far behind in what we are trying to do, its slowing us down a little bit but we will see when we play in a couple of days.”

Nigeria is heading to the championship with no single player from the Olympics roster. reacting, Brown called the Afrobasket schedule a “Bad timing”, stating that NBA players can’t participate in the competition due to the rule.

Bad timing for FIBA Africa to have the tournament. NBA players cant participate in Olympics Afrobasket cos that’s the rule.
