D’Tigers qualification for the next round made difficult as, lost to Ivory Coast means they will battle for one of the remain four tickets to the Last Eight Round.

Ben Emelogu for the second time in three games finished as the most efficient player, dropping 13 points, for D’Tigers in 68-77 lost to Ivory Coast.

Matty Castelo lead the Ivorians with an impressive 12 points 6 rebounds 4 assists and 5 blocks in the game.

The win for Ivory coast means, they are through to the next round. As winners of their groups, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal and Tunisia qualified automatically to the FIBA AfroBasket 2021 Quarter-Finals.

The format for the Afrobasket Championship will see Nigeria face Uganda for quarter finals ticket, despite winning first two win games.

Other countries to battle for the tickets are, Angola, Egypt, Guinea, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Sudan and Uganda.

D’Tigers game against Uganda comes up on Tuesday at 2pm, Nigerian time.
