The fifth edition of the University Of Ilorin Football League kicked in grand style last week Friday with defending champions City Boys FC taking on FC Zeus in what was a fierce encounter.

The game was a battle for supremacy as FC Zeus who are the biggest spenders in the league looked determined to break the monopoly of City Boys FC.

However it happened that the Boys from the city lost one nill to FC Zeus courtesy of a goal from Abdulhamumeen.

The Unilorin Football League is never free of drama and it’s on this note we reveal that there was a transfer tussle between Skillz FC and Real Eagles FC over Tomiwa Sokoya.

Tomiwa joined Skillz FC on a free after claiming that his contract with Real Eagles FC had expired but his employer said no it hasn’t.

Fortunately the first game of the season in group B was between these teams. Sokoya lined up for Skikkz FC with him wearing the number 10 shirt.

Tomiwa showed no love for the Eagles with scoring two goals and setting up one for Bowale. The game ended 3-1 in favor of the Dry Cleaner boys.

His performance however earns him the star of the week and a place in the team of the week.

Here are results from the matchday one of the league.
