The Nigeria Premier Basketball League is finally back on Wednesday as teams jostle for a slot to represent Nigeria at the next edition of the Basketball Africa League.

Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club who where at the last edition of BAL looks ready to give opponent a big run for their money, as they fancy their chances of claiming a slot for a second appearance at The BAL.

Heavyweights Gombe Bulls who have just one Nigeria Basketball League title to show, will be a big threat to oppositions, with Michael Okiki, Mustapha Oyebanji and Bolaji Emilagba all on their roster.

Gombe Bulls will face Civil Defenders in their first game 8 AM on Wednesday in the Savannah conference, with three more games to expect on that same day, featuring Lagos Islanders vs CAMAC, Ondo Raiders vs Coal City, Kwara Falcons vs Police Baton and Invaders vs Lagos Raptors in the Atlantic Conference.

All games from this phase will be played in Akure.

The game between Lagos Islanders and CAMAC comes up around 9 AM.

Defending Champions, Rivers Hoopers will tackle Coal City in their first game on Thursday.

9 teams make up the Atlantic conference, Rivers Hoopers, Kwara Falcons, Raptors, Police Batons, Ondo Raiders, Islanders, Coal City, Impressions, Camac, Invaders and Lagos Warriors.

In the Savannah Conference we have 10 teams, Niger Potters, Defenders, Reformers, Benue Braves, Nigerian Army, Gomb Bulls, Kano Pillars, City Chiefs, Pleatue Peaks and Bauchi nets.

With 9 teams in the Atlantic conference and 10 from the Savannah conference, Four will qualify from each of the conferences for the final 8 which will hold from September 26th – Oct 2, 2021.
