One-time champion of the Nigeria Premier Basketball League, Gombe Bulls began the new Nigeria Basketball League campaign with an win over Defenders.

The Savannah Conference of the Nigeria Men’s Basketball League saw four matches played on match day one.

Gombe who had missed out of basketball action for the last 3 seasons marked their return with a slim win against Defenders.
