President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday received the FIFA President, Mr Gianni Infantino, and CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe in State House, Abuja.

During the courtesy visit, the FIFA president presented an iconic number 10 jersey – which is given to people who have a great impact in sport– and a football to Mr President.

Jersey was also presented to the First Lady of the country for her impactful support of the now FIFA recognized ranking tour of a six-nation invitational matches tagged Aisha Buhari Cup.

The gesture well received earned the two football Presidents a customized replica of the beautiful Nigeria Jersey designed by Nike.

The world football supremo had a brief stopover at the MKO National Stadium which is undergoing renovation, Infantino sing praises of Dangote, said the gesture of such private and corporate personalities like Alhaji Dangote is what FIFA and indeed football need globally to meet the yearning of teeming fans and supporters.

He promised to support in anyway to ensure the stadium does not slip back to disuse, having been literally abandoned for years , Infantino said all stakeholders must work together.

“I met the President earlier today with the Minister. Yeah, the President and some private persons like Dangote are investing in football, in stadiums, we need to work together to give them something back .
Obviously the stadium here and others around Nigeria need some quality games, top quality national team games, top quality club games”.

The delegation was accompanied by Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, Amaju Pinnick, NFF President and Member of FIFA, Shehu Dikko, LMC chief and shown around by personnel of Facility and Stadium Development.
