Former CAF/FIFA instructor, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has declared that the standard of the game in Nigeria is about to be raised at the forthcoming Chief Onigbinde U-17 Football Tourney.

Speaking at the pre-tournament seminar tagged ‘Developing Nigerian Football/Football Team Building’ for coaches held at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, the two time Super Eagles coach reteirated on the need for development of football at the grassroot level.

“This football tourney is beyond just playing football, it is not joke, it more about about raising the standard of the game”, the Modakeke born chief said.

The seminar which was which was designed to educate the knowledge and improve the standard of all participated coaches was delivered by CAF A license coach, Festus Adegoju of the Department of Human Kinetics University of Ibadan, saw coaches of the 32 participating teams present.

Ibadan will play host to the maiden edition of the chief Onigbinde U-17 Championship come October 20 – 31st, 2021 at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium.
