Atlas Lionesses of Morocco and Eagles of Mali played out a goalless draw in both side’s final game at the 2021 Aisha Buhari Tournament at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos.
Oumou Kone had a brilliant opportunity to put Mali ahead in the 52nd minute off a defensive error by Zineb Redouani, but her shot flew wide of the goalpost.
Morocco’s goalscorer against Cameroon, Tagnaout Fatima missed a gilt-edge chance in the 57th minute as she failed to tap the ball into the back of the net from Salmi Rania’s cross.
In the 72nd minute, with only the goalie to beat, Tagnaout Fatima’s one-on-one chance against Karentao Fatoumata hit the goalkeeper’s body.
At the other end, Traore Aissata’s long-range shot was saved by Errmichi Khadija for Mali’s corner kick.
Morocco finished the tournament with a win and a draw after two games while Mali picked only a point from its two games.
