Cameroon look to bounce back from their 1-0 upset against Morocco when they face Ghana who also looked to bounce back from a terrible 3-0 demolition against South Africa.
The two sides shared a similar head-to-head record. From their 11 meetings, both teams have won three matches respectively, and shared the spoils five times, including a 1-1 draw at the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana.
Both coaches made three changes to their defeated opening game lineup to Morocco and South Africa respectively.
For Cameroon, Bawow Ange Gabrielle replaced Carole Mimboe in goal while Eliane Aimee Bibout and Bertthe Reinette Abega came in for Bella Rose and Jeannette Grace Ngock respectively.
Justice Tweneboaa, Vivian Konadu, and Elizabeth Owusu replaced Adams Grace, Diwura Soale Wasila, and Opoku Sonia respectively, in the Ghana’s lineup.
It was Ghana that dominated the first half creating scoring chances but unable to utilize ass the halftime ended goalless.
Princella Adubea broke the deadlock in the 60th minute after racing through Cameroon’s defence before slotting the ball into the back of the net for the opening goal of the game.
Black Queens doubled their lead in the 88th minute courtesy of a goal from Konadu Adjei Vivian who dribbled past three defenders to slot past the goalkeeper and seal the win for her side.
