Former Bayer Leverkusen, Fenerbahce and Besiktas player Sezer Ozturk has been connected to a fatal shooting that left one person dead and four others injured near Istanbul’s district Sile.

According to Turkish Sports Broadcaster NTV Spor, the incident occurred on Monday the 19th of September after the 35-year-old got into a fight in an apparent case of road rage.

An unverified video footage has been circulating online, with the footballer opening fire on a group of people at the scene of the accident. The victim was identified as a Halil İbrahim Genç, 24.

Ozturk graduated from the Bayer Leverkusen academy but played a handful game for the Bundesliga side.

The German born midfielder was a standout for Turkey at youth level and he went on to win the Turkish Cup twice with Fenerbahce and also saw spells with Besiktas and Basaksehir. Guus Hiddink gave him a call up in 2010 to the Turkish National team for preparation in the United States but did not manage to earn any caps.
